The Dotrin presents

The Daily Fellowship of Bread

What we believe

We believe in the Dot.

That is all.

Every tradition, every name, every soul, everything. all of it is in the dot. it is all matter, time and space and religion.

Some might see a hole, and not a dot. This is an optical illusion.

the dot is big enough to hold all, small enough to hold.

Our understanding is called the Dotrin.

A monthly gift keeps the table set all year. We're finishing our online giving setup, so for now pick an amount and it will open an email — we'll take it from there.

    Give once instead, any amount

Gifts are tax-deductible. We're a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt religious corporation (EIN 42-2931968), so your gift is deductible to the extent allowed by law, and we'll send an acknowledgment for your records.

    Questions & answers

    Frequently asked questions

    Who can receive food?

Anyone who needs it. There's no ID requirement, no income check, and no paperwork. People of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome at the table.

    How much does it cost?

Nothing. Food is always free, for anyone who comes.

Do I need to sign up or qualify?

You don't need to prove anything to receive food. In Sacramento, just turn up: the day, time and address are on the Sacramento branch page. In Los Angeles, email us and we'll send you the details.

When and where is the distribution?

Every distribution goes out to the list by text and email, with the day, the time and the address in the same message. Leave a number or an email address and you'll get it, or call us on (575) 223-1242. We only ever name a day once the food is actually in, so what you're told is always real.

What kind of food do you share?

Wholesome surplus produce, bread, and pantry goods recovered from local grocers and retailers, good food that would otherwise be thrown away.

Do I have to share your faith to receive food or volunteer?

No. We're a faith community, but the table is open to everyone, whatever you believe. Receiving food and volunteering come with no expectations.

How can I give, and are donations tax-deductible?

Yes, gifts are tax-deductible. We're a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt religious corporation, so your gift is deductible to the extent allowed by law, and we'll send an acknowledgment for your records. You can give online here, monthly or once, using Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. Every payment is handled by Stripe, and we're never shown your card details. Monthly gifts can be changed or stopped at any time.
